Australian Patent Attorney Directory - ABOUT

The Directory was developed and is maintained by the Industry Development Centre (Hunter) Ltd (IDC) to help small businesses and inventors to locate and contact patent attorneys throughout Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

A not-for-profit organisation, the IDC was established in 1992 by the Australian Government. The Centre specialises in innovation services, which it delivers throughout Australia from its base at University of Newcastle. Innovation services are provided in three (3) main areas including education, evaluation and commercialisation.

Recognised as an Innovation Centre of Excellence IDC delivers the NSW Department of State and Regional Development's Innovation Advisory Service (IAS), helping inventors and innovative small businesses to evaluate, develop, protect and commercialise new products and technologies.

By encouraging increased innovation, investment and trade through the effective use of intellectual property (IP), we make it possible for Australian business to establish and maintain international markets for new technology.

Through the work of IDC and the support of the NSW Department of State and Regional Development, we assist small-to-medium business value their intellectual property thereby ensuring sustainable business growth.
